GERC proposes reducing the banking charge from ₹1.50 to ₹1.00/unit from 1 September 2026, based on a study of 165 GEOA consumers. Introduces a new annual determination methodology using 15-minute slot data, IEX market prices, and thermal variable costs. Floor: ₹0.50/unit. Ceiling: ₹1.50/unit. DISCOMs that fail to provide data will have their banking charge set to Nil.
